Facebook Inc. successfully fought off claims it misled investors about Cambridge Analytica and other data-use issues, although a federal district judge in California gave permission for the plaintiffs to amend their dismissed suit.
The investors challenged more than six dozen Facebook statements about the privacy of users’ data and related topics. Most of the challenged statements weren’t adequately alleged to be false, and the handful that were failed on loss causation grounds, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said Aug. 7.
