Ex-Dow Exec, Broker, Firm Settle SEC’s Insider Suit

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan Jan. 13 entered final judgments by consent against a former Dow Chemical Co. executive,
(DOW) a former broker, and relief defendant Raymond James Financial Services Inc., in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s lawsuit over their alleged roles in an insider trading scheme ahead of Dow’s acquisition of Rohm & Haas Co. (SEC v. Murrell).

Without admitting or denying the SEC’s allegations, defendants Mack D. Murrell, Charles W. Adams, and Raymond James agreed to pay disgorgement plus prejudgment interest and/or civil penalties. Murrell, a former Dow executive, ...
