Eversource Energy 401(k) Suit Gets Class Treatment, With Caveat

Former Eversource Energy Co. employees challenging the New England energy provider’s retirement plan can press their claims as a certified class but can’t seek forward-looking changes unless a current plan participant joins the case, a Connecticut federal judge ruled Wednesday.

Judge Janet C. Hall of the US District Court for the District of Connecticut certified the Employee Retirement Income Security Act lawsuit as a class action covering more than 11,000 participants in and beneficiaries of the Eversource plan.
