Ernst & Young’s Germany Branch Brought Back Into Wirecard Suit

US investors will be able to get a limited set of documents from a German accounting firm affiliated with Ernst & Young Global Ltd. after a federal judge reversed a dismissal in a suit over the collapse of Wirecard AG.

Wirecard invented fictional escrow accounts worth €1.9 billion in “the largest fraud in German postwar history,” the suit says. The finance company’s US investors are trying to hold Ernst & Young GmbH Wirtschaftspruefungsgesellschaft responsible for its auditing role.
