Enviva Inc. investors failed to adequately allege the wood-pellet energy company misled them about its products’ environmental benefits in stock offering documents and other statements over the course of two years, a federal court ruled.
The now-bankrupt energy company is no longer an active defendant the proposed class action. Its top leaders and the banks behind its January 2022 stock offering registration aren’t responsible for the investors’ market losses, Judge Deborah K. Chasanow said July 3 for the US District Court for the District of Maryland.
