Deutsche Bank Says New SPAC ‘Hunting Ground’ Is Nordic ESG

Deutsche Bank AG says blank-check companies are set to target sustainable investments in the Nordic region as an alternative to the technology, media and telecom assets that have been popular so far.

Jan Olsson, the Stockholm-based Nordic chief executive of Deutsche Bank, says the region’s “ESG sector will be an ideal hunting ground for international SPACs” (special-purpose acquisition companies) looking for assets outside the “crowded TMT verticals.”

The Nordic region got its first SPAC in early March -- ACQ -- created by Swedish investment firm Bure Equity AB. Bure drew in just over $400 million in investor cash ...
