Deloitte & Touche LLP‘s $34 million settlement received a court’s initial approval to end allegations it misled Scana Corp. investors over a failed nuclear reactor project.

Judge Jacquelyn D. Austin preliminarily approved the agreement in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina on Tuesday. The nod paves the way to resolve six years of litigation alleging Deloitte released misleadingly clean audits before the former public utility abandoned the project amid delays and ballooned costs in 2017.
