Del Monte Finance Executive To Pay $49,000 in Insider Case

Juan Carlos Bertini, a Del Monte Foods Corp. financial executive, agreed March 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California to pay approximately $49,000 in disgorgement, prejudgment interest, and civil penalties, to resolve allegations he traded on inside information regarding his company’s pending acquisition by a private investor group (SEC v. Bertini).

In a release, the Securities and Exchange Commission said that without admitting or denying misconduct, Bertini also agreed to a five-year officer/director bar and to refrain from future violations.
