CME Group Urges CFTC to Tweak SDR Proposal; Registration, Principles Cited

CME Group Inc. suggested several changes Feb. 22 to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s proposed rules for swap data repositories, including those involving the core requirements they will operate under, how they will be registered, how they might “commercialize” data they receive, and how they might conduct surveillance.

The comment letter was in response to a Nov. 19 CFTC rule proposal regarding the establishment and duties of SDRs (223 DER EE-10, 11/22/10).
