CME Group Plans 24/7 Crypto Futures and Options Trading in 2026

CME Group Inc. said it will enable round the clock trading of cryptocurrency futures and options from early next year, after clocking record volumes of contracts amid a friendlier regulatory environment.

The biggest derivatives exchange operator said crypto futures and options will be available to trade nearly 24 hours a day, seven days a week starting in 2026 pending regulatory approval, according to a statement Thursday. CME will trade the contracts continuously on CME Globex, with a roughly two-hour weekly maintenance period taking place over the weekend.
