Chegg Misled on Digital Education Subscribers Growth, Suit Says

Chegg Inc. is facing another lawsuit alleging the digital education company misled investors about its uptick in revenue from virtual learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

Chegg CEO Daniel Rosensweig and other executives failed to attribute an influx of subscribers in 2020 and 2021 to a temporary increase in virtual learning due to Covid-19 and students using its online tutoring platform to cheat on remote exams, according to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California Wednesday.
