CenturyLink’s Bid for Fast Appeal in Investor Class Suit Fails

CenturyLink Inc. lost its bid to have the Eighth Circuit immediately weigh a lower court decision certifying a class of investors in a suit accusing the company of misleading them about overbilling practices.

The communications firm sought permission to appeal in late September, two weeks after the lower court approved class status. The petition “has been considered by the court and is denied,” the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit said Tuesday.
