Cannabis Investment Scam Defendants Owe SEC Nearly $3.4 Million

Two men and one of their companies must pay the SEC almost $3.4 million combined in disgorgement, interest, and fines after they settled with the agency, a federal judge in California said.

Anthony Todd Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, and their six companies also consented to permanent injunctions prohibiting them from violating certain federal securities laws for their roles in an alleged scheme to mislead investors about the potential profits of two marijuana businesses, raising more than $25 million, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California said.
