Brett Favre, Digital Sports Media Execs Beat Securities Suit

Retired NFL player Brett Favre and the executives of the digital sports media company Sqor won dismissal of securities claims by an investment company that alleged it was duped into investing more than $16 million in the now-bankrupt company, according to a Louisiana federal court ruling.

Callais Capital Management LLC alleged that Sqor’s directors and management misled it into investing in the company by artificially inflating its value.

But the claims must be dismissed because the complaint doesn’t “state with particularity the circumstances constituting fraud or mistake,” the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana said Wednesday.
