Bloomberg Granted First Registration From CFTC as Swap Execution Facility

Bloomberg SEF LLC, an affiliate of Bloomberg L.P., July 31 became the first entity to be temporarily registered by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission as a swap execution facility. (Bloomberg L.P. is the parent company of Bloomberg BNA.)

SEFs are registered trading platforms established by the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act to bring multiple market participants together to trade or execute swaps. The CFTC adopted rules for the registration and operation of SEFs May 16 (96 DER EE-16, 5/17/13).
