The UK’s fifth-biggest accounting firm BDO has exchanged contracts on a merger with its Irish arm as it looks to scale up cross-border activity.
Partners in both countries voted in favor of the deal, which was first announced in November, and it should be completed by this spring subject to regulatory approval. The merger will add BDO’s two Irish offices to the UK arm’s 17, with combined revenue of £1.1 billion ($1.5 billion) and about 550 partners.
