Barclays Fixes Paperwork Error, Buyback to Start This Week (3)

Barclays Plc said it’s filed the correct paperwork for selling securities, fixing a costly oversight and clearing the way for its delayed £1 billion ($1.3 billion) buyback to begin.

The London-based bank said in a statement Monday that it lodged amended forms with the US Securities and Exchange Commission and is in talks with the regulator about the terms of a so-called rescission offer for securities it oversold. It said in a separate announcement Tuesday that the buyback will start May 24 and end no later than Sept 30.
