AEP Receives Second Subpeona From SEC on Ohio Corruption Probe

American Electric Power Co. said it received a second subpoena from federal financial regulators related to a corruption probe into the passage of an Ohio nuclear and coal subsidy bill.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission is seeking additional documents tied to its inquiry into the bill’s passage under a subpoena received in August, AEP said in a filing with the regulator Thursday. The SEC sent an initial subpoena to AEP in May 2021.
