Wellness Plans Increasingly Feature Outcomes-Based Incentives, Survey Reveals

Employers are shifting to wellness programs with outcomes-based measures, according to a new survey from bswift, a Chicago-based vendor of HR software solutions.

Outcomes-based measures are requirements employees must meet, and show proof of having met, to receive rewards or incentives as outlined in a company’s wellness program.

According to the survey, nearly one-quarter of large employers with wellness programs now feature outcomes-based incentives for employees who meet or exceed biometric thresholds, and almost half are considering this approach in 2015. According to bswift, these numbers show “a significant boost” from 2013, when 15 percent featured outcome-based measures.
