United Airlines Fined for Boeing Jet Rolling Over Worker’s Foot

United Airlines Inc. violated a federal worker safety law by not taking steps to prevent a towed Boeing 737 from rolling over and crushing a worker’s foot, an administrative law judge held.

United failed to enforce its own safety standards for towing aircraft, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission’s chief judge found in a decision publicly posted Friday. The ruling, which affirmed a $14,502 fine sought by OSHA, became a final OSHRC order Thursday because it wasn’t appealed to the full commission.
