Tyson Faces Virus Fraud Lawsuit From Families of Dead Workers

Tyson Foods Inc. faces accusations of fraudulent misrepresentations, gross negligence, and incorrigible, willful and wanton disregard for worker safety at its pork processing facility in Waterloo, Iowa.

The families of three workers who died of Covid-19 filed a lawsuit in Iowa’s Black Hawk County District Court on Thursday alleging that Tyson failed to provide workers with appropriate personal protective equipment and failed to implement sufficient social distancing or safety measures to protect workers from an outbreak that resulted in the deaths of Sedika Buljic and Reberiano Garcia in April, and Jose Luis Ayala Jr. in May.
