Two federal safety appeals panels are closer to having new members.

The nominations of Susan Harthill for the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission and Mary Lu Jordan for the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission were sent to the Senate, Monday. Harthill replaces James Sullivan, whose term expired, while Jordan is being reappointed.

If confirmed, former U.S. Labor Department attorney Harthill, would round out the full slate of OSHRC commissioners. Jordan’s most recent term on FMSHRC ended Aug. 30, 2020.

President Joe Biden nominated them on Sept. 22.
