Employers in Washington state would have to comply with the nation’s toughest workplace limits for lead exposure if the state adopts requirements in a planned overhaul of its lead rule.
The rule proposal would set stricter mandates for when workers with high levels of lead in their blood must be moved to work sites with less lead exposure. It would also require employers to take actions to prevent workers from inhaling or ingesting high levels of lead.
