Airport services provider Swissport International AG is facing worker safety inspections and union pressure for safer conditions and higher wages at several US airports.
Swissport facilities at six US airports in the past month were inspected for safety hazards based on worker complaints, according to OSHA enforcement records.
“Swissport is the largest airport services provider in the country. This is workers at six of the largest airports calling them out on health and safety issues,” said Rob Hill, director of Service Employees International Union’s National Airport Campaign. The union helped the workers file the complaints.
