The US Supreme Court declined to hear a Massachusetts-based manufacturer’s appeal of OSHA citations alleging the company, Riverdale Mills Corp., failed to protect its workers from chemical and mechanical dangers.
The Supreme Court’s decision Monday upholds a June 23 judgment by the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that found in favor of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The appeals court in an unpublished, four-page decision said the government presented “substantial evidence” of the violations and rejected Riverdale’s claims. Riverdale appealed to the Supreme Court on Sept. 21.
