Safety Review Commission Chair MacDougall to Resign (1)

Heather MacDougall, chair of the panel hearing appeals of federal safety citations, said March 6 she intends to leave the post within a month.

MacDougall was first appointed to the Occupational Safety Health and Review Commission by President Barack Obama in 2014 and reappointed by President Donald Trump in 2017.

MacDougall’s departure and the end of Commissioner Cynthia Attwood’s term in April likely will leave the commission without a two-member quorum to decide Occupational Safety and Health Administration cases.

Remaining on the panel will be James Sullivan, a former industry attorney, appointed by Trump in 2017.
