Precision Plumbing Faces $334,000 Fine After Worker Buried

Precision Plumbing LLC has been cited with two willful and six serious violations and proposed penalties of $333,949 after a worker was accidentally buried in a nine-foot trench while connecting a plumbing line to a municipal sewer in Salina, Kan., according to the US Department of Labor Monday.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors determined the trench lacked protection against cave-ins, and found the employer also created hazards by allowing soil piles and equipment within two feet of the excavation’s edge.
