Now that the Biden Administration has released a National Emphasis Program focusing its safety enforcement efforts on companies that put the largest number of workers at serious risk of contracting the coronavirus, employers are bracing for Covid-19 inspections. There will be about 1,600 such surveys, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The targeted inspections begin Friday.
The OSHA program prioritizes searches of hazardous industries and for employers that retaliate against workers for complaints about unsafe or unhealthy conditions, or for exercising other rights protected by federal law, the agency announced.
