The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is moving to begin a rulemaking on workplace heat exposure by teeing up a request for feedback from the public.
The regulatory effort is part of a larger White House plan to safeguard workers from the perils of extreme heat. The OSHA rulemaking, an action that safety advocates have requested for years, is expected to primarily affect workers in agriculture, construction, and other types of employment where climate-controlled environments are not possible.
