OSHA Health-Care Worker Covid Rule Sent for White House Review

The permanent version of OSHA’s rule to protect health-care workers from Covid-19 is at the White House budget office for review.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration rule is expected to cover health-care facilities such as hospitals and nursing homes where people with Covid-19 are likely to receive care.

The text of the regulation sent late Wednesday to the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs hasn’t been released. However, if the standard follows the outline of a prior temporary rule, it’s likely to require employers to have infection protection programs and track workers’ Covid-19 cases (RIN:1218-AD36).
