Protecting health-care industry workers from assaults by patients and other violence is the focus of a proposed OSHA rule the agency is asking the industry to discuss.
The request for information, set to appear in the Dec. 7 Federal Register, follows an Occupational Safety and Health Administration announcement a year ago that the agency was pursuing the rulemaking (RIN: 1218-AD08).
The agency in a separate notice announced a day-long public forum on the proposed rule, set for Jan. 10 at the Department of Labor headquarters in Washington.
