OSHA Delays Hearing on Arizona Worker Safety Program Future

Arizona’s worker safety agency got a reprieve Wednesday from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s plan to revoke its approval of the state agency.

OSHA announced that a public hearing about the Arizona state plan set for Aug. 16 had been put on hold and may not happen at all. Instead, OSHA is opening the door for 60 more days of public comment and will decide later if actions taken by Arizona officials resolve the federal agency’s concerns with the state program.
