The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed a total of more than $125,000 in penalties against two separate employers for alleged violations related to ammonia exposures, actions that come as the agency ramps up its chemical facilities emphasis program.
The agency issued eight citations for alleged serious violations by Perry’s Ice Cream Co., located in Akron, N.Y., with for proposed penalties of $51,000 and 12 citations for alleged serious violations and one other-than-serious violation by Kraft Foods in Madison, Wis., with proposed penalties of $75,000.
