OSHA Asked to Inspect Meat Processing Plant for Virus Violations

Three anonymous workers at a Maid-Rite Specialty Foods meat processing plant and an activist group want a federal court to force OSHA to immediately inspect the company’s Dunmore, Pa., plant for Covid-19 hazards and require the company to comply with federal safety standards.

The emergency petition from the three Jane Does and from Friends of Farmworkers Inc.—also known as Justice at Work—was filed against Labor Department Secretary Eugene Scalia Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
