A vinyl tile manufacturer faces $545,853 in new federal penalties after a worker suffered a finger amputation at a facility in Fostoria, Ohio, according to the Labor Department on Thursday.
While operating a machine in February 2023, a worker’s gloved finger became caught in a chain and sprocket system that did not have the required safety guards in place, the agency said.
