Mine Agency Starts Powered Haulage Safety Plans Rulemaking (1)

The Mine Safety and Health Administration has begun a rulemaking that could require mine operators to have a safety program for mobile equipment and powered haulage equipment at surface mines and surface areas of underground mines.

The White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs website noted receipt of the proposed rule on April 29. Review by the White House regulatory office is generally the last step before an agency can publish a regulation in the Federal Register.
