Construction sites in Pennsylvania and West Virginia are facing greater scrutiny under a “construction incident prevention initiative” being conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s area offices in the two states. During the campaign, which runs from June through September, OSHA sends “all of its compliance officers into the field to conduct immediate inspections,” the agency said. When inspectors see potential problems at a construction site, they will check for safety hazards involving the four leading causes of accidents: falls, struck-by/crushing events, electrocutions, and caught in-between events.
