Massachusetts Roofing Contractor Faces $159,343 for Fall Hazards

A Massachusetts roofing contractor faces $159,343 in penalties from OSHA related to fall hazards, following an Oct. 5, 2016, inspection.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration served roofing contractor Luis Quindi, of Lowell, Mass., with eight citations for three serious, two willful and three repeat violations, including failure to provide fall protection; failure to provide eye protection when using nail guns; unsafe ladders and inadequate head protection.

A crew was working for Quindi, whose company is also known as Speedy Gonsales Construction, on a roof at a residence in Lowell, Mass.
