Jacobs Technology Broke Safety Rules at NASA Site, Judge Says

A subsidary of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., violated federal worker safety rules at a NASA research center, an administrative law judge has concluded.

In a decision released Tuesday, the judge found that Jacobs Technology Group Inc. allowed its workers and others to be exposed to lead and hazardous chemicals during an underground tunnel maintenance project at the National Aeronautical Space Administration’s Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va.

The judge, Carol Baumerich of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, affirmed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s citation for two serious violations and a $15,604 fine.
