The number of federal workplace safety inspectors has increased about 20% during the Biden administration, OSHA officials are saying.
The boost in inspectors should enable the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration to continue expanding its enforcement programs, including a proposed effort that will focus on warehouses and delivery services.
OSHA now has about 900 inspectors, agency Assistant Secretary Doug Parker told Wednesday’s session of the American Bar Association’s Workplace and Occupational Safety and Health Committee annual meeting.
