Illinois Dollar Tree Store Fined for Alleged Safety Hazards

Dollar Tree Inc. has been issued citations for repeat violations and $364,661 in proposed penalties for allegedly allowing unsafely stored and stacked boxes of merchandise and blocked electrical panels at a store in Matteson, Ill., the Labor Department said Thursday.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors allegedly found wheeled carts, large boxes, and merchandise in the storeroom blocking walkways and work areas, unsecured freight stacked at heights exceeding 6 feet, and electrical panels obstructed by stacked merchandise, the department said.
