Hyundai EV Plant Contractor Added to OSHA ‘Severe Violator’ List

OSHA has placed Eastern Constructors Inc. in its Severe Violator Enforcement Program and proposed penalties of $160,724 after a worker suffered fatal injuries at a Hyundai electric car plant in Ellabell, Ga.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigators found that one of the construction contractor’s workers lost his footing while walking along the top of a building’s upper frame in April 2023, the US Labor Department said on Thursday. His safety line was cut on the sharp edge of the structure, and he fell 60 feet.
