Hawaii Resumes Manufacturing Safety Inspections

A final rule published in the Feb. 14 Federal Register (79 Fed. Reg. 8,855) makes official changes to an agreement between the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. An “operational status agreement,” signed in 2012, specifies how OSHA and Hawaii will split inspection responsibilities as Hawaii rebuilds its safety agency43 OSHR 247, 3/14/13.
