Framing Contractor Faces New Fines After Ignoring OSHA Requests

A Chicago-area framing contractor has been cited with nine violations of federal safety standards after exposing employees to falls and failing to provide other safety equipment, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced Monday.

According to the agency, KW Framing employees were working on a residential development at heights up to 30 feet without fall protection on four separate occasions.

OSHA said along with lacking fall protections, the company failed to provide eye protection and guardrails, misused ladders, failed to ensure employees wore head protection, and failed to maintain records or certification that employees received fall protection training.
