Fatal New Orleans Hotel Collapse Brings Flurry of Litigation

Lawsuits are piling up for the developers of a Hard Rock Hotel in downtown New Orleans that partially collapsed during construction, leaving three workers dead and about 30 others injured.

The families of at least two of the deceased workers have sued, as have 10 people who were injured by falling construction debris on or near the site. In a fourth lawsuit, an employee of a nearby business brought a proposed class action, seeking to represent businesses and their workers who say they’ve lost income after having to shut down or evacuate.
