A garbage truck driver was killed after being pinned between his own truck and a parked car while working in Northern California, prompting an investigation by California’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health.
Cal/OSHA said it was notified Jan. 16 that a driver for Republic Services was killed in a residential neighborhood of Daly City. An investigation was opened to “determine the cause of the incident,” according to Frank Polizzi, spokesman for the state Department of Industrial Relations, of which the job safety division is a part.
