Dollar Tree Faces $477,089 Fine for Alleged Egress Violations

Dollar Tree Inc. faces a $477,089 OSHA fine for repeatedly blocking exit routes and fire extinguishers at its Marinette, Wis., store, according to the federal safety agency.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued Dollar Tree one other-than-serious, two repeat and three willful citations after a Sept. 24 inspection.

An inspector’s report said the company exposed employees to struck-by hazards caused by unstable stacks of stored merchandise more than 8 feet high, and storing boxes of product near electrical equipment.
