Dollar Tree Cited Again for Alleged Worker Safety Violations

Dollar Tree Inc. has been cited with two repeat violations and faces $294,668 in proposed penalties for allegedly hazardous conditions at a store in Coventry, R.I., according to the US Department of Labor Thursday.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration inspectors allegedly found boxes of merchandise stacked unsafely in the shopping area and boxes, wheeled carts, large boxes, bins and trash in the stockroom.

The company received citations for exposing employees to slip and trip hazards in addition to collapse and struck-by hazards, the agency said.
