Dollar General Corp. and Dolgencorp LLC have been cited with four willful and ten repeat violations and face $1,680,216 in proposed penalties in Alabama, Florida, and Georgia for allegedly ignoring workplace safety standards, the Department of Labor announced Monday.
The company, which operates more than 18,000 Dollar General stores across 47 states, allegedly failed to maintain clean receiving and storage areas, and stacked items unsafely which exposed workers to slips and trips, said the agency.
