Donovan Salvage Works has agreed to pay $40,000 in back wages and damages after a whistleblower investigation found the company fired a smelter operator for reporting safety concerns at a Delaware salvage yard, according to the US Department of Labor Wednesday.
The company allegedly wrongly terminated the employee for contacting the Occupational Safety and Health Administration about a smelter leaking propane, the department said.
